When we buy a piece of furniture, we are instructed how to put it together step by step,

discouraging curiosity and wondering.

 

Paralyzed Societies encourages the society to change and accept new perceptions. What if we start to question the possibility of something being used as something else? In this piece, the table-ness of a table is explored. Our perception of a table consists of a flat surface with four legs. But what makes a table a table? A table is merely a horizontal surface, therefore, the scope broadens. The bed, the floor, even the run of a stair can lend itself into being a table.
